Materialism & Teenage Self Esteem

This is not a new study (2007) but I have only just come across it.  It suggest that as a teenagers self-esteem increases there is a corresponding decline in materialism.  This further confirms what many of us will have observed that insecurity and having a poor self concept can lead to an increased desire to buy stuff. I think it is called “Retail Therapy”.
